Let there be heat!.....and gallbladder update

Well, while the rest of you folks have been having a summer, we, the people of Oklahoma, have been sweltering. The only time it's under 100 degrees is after dark, when we might get down to 85 or so. Most days we are at 105 or higher. It was supposed to get to 113 yesterday, but showers in Oklahoma City cooled it off to 109 as I was leaving work and then down to 99 or so around 6:00. We never got any rain in Norman, though, and we desperately need it. This week we are supposed to be having the hottest temperatures EVER recorded in Oklahoma. I think Al Gore is a genius who everyone should be listening to about the global warming stuff. We are under mandatory water rationing for outside watering and it may get stiffer if we don't get some relief soon. Our lakes are way down and some of them have the toxic blue-green algae growing in them. Thank goodness the lake we frequent is spring-fed and I don't think will have that problem.

I went and visited my surgeon this morning. Joe went with me so we could ask questions. We both liked him. He suggested that I have the operation done within the next 2 weeks so I can fully recouperate before our trip to the OU-Fla State game in September. He said it could be BAD if I ended up in the emergency room in Florida with an OU shirt on (especially if we were winning). I may not get the help I need. heehee I don't really want to wait after the trip because I could have another attack while down there. Either way it's not good to wait too long. My guesstimate is probably the week of August 15. We'll see.
