Couponing and Zumba

I decided to do some couponing the other day at the IGA store and this is what I got for $7.00 (including tax).

I got an iphone before I left on spring break and I found a really cool application. It's called Cardstar and it's great. For people like me who have tons of store loyalty cards that I carry around in my purse in a little zipper bag, I can enter the information into the cardstar app and now I can just look it up on my phone and the barcode shows in my window. You hand the phone to the cashier and they can scan the barcode (just like on the back of the card) and you're good to go. I tried it at CVS the other day and it worked, even with the privacy screen on my phone (which some people said the app wouldn't work if you had one). Anyway, check it out, it's a great app.

After returning from Colorado where I could hardly breathe, I decided I needed to start going back to the YMCA. I've been hearing about the Zumba classes so I thought I would check one out (Kaitlyn and her friend Lindsey go to them all the time.) I love to dance and I especially love latin music to dance to so I thought, what the heck? On Sunday, I attended the regular class (fast paced and for much younger people!!). I lasted 15 minutes. So I went back today to the Zumba Gold (for those seniors over 50). Unfortunately, there was a sub teacher who said she had never taught "goldens" before. She started out slow but then turned into a workout freak. Well, I lasted 30 minutes in that class (several ladies followed me out the door when I left early). I was surprised when there was probably about 50 ladies (and a few men) in the class. It's a popular class. About 10-15 of the ladies were all excited and put on their belly-dancing scarfs around their waists (the scarves that have the jingly coins on them) and were gyrating around to the latin music. I thought that was funny. They either forgot that belly-dancing was from the middle-east or I guess I'm confused about Zumba being a South American form of aerobic exercise.

Anyway, I will try it again on Friday when hopefully the normal instructor is there. She taught the senior classes I went to a couple of years ago and I like her and she does slow it down for us out of shape folks. I know I'll like it for the music if nothing else.
