Today Monroe Elementary invited the 2009 Seniors that attended there to a reception in their honor. Most of the class came. They get to sit on risers at the front of the gym for the Friday morning assembly, "Good Morning Monroe." This sign was up on a video screen...

Here is Kaitlyn and Rainey on the last day of 5th grade at Monroe with their 5th grade t-shirts on.
Here's Kaitlyn and Rainey as freshman in high school (notice the braces). Kaitlyn was on cheer and Rainey was on pom.
And, Kaitlyn and Rainey this morning. I think Rainey cried during the whole thing. Rainey even wore one of her saved Monroe t-shirts.

It was a very nostalgic morning. This afternoon Kaitlyn had her senior pictures made. All of the outside ones were shot on the University of Oklahoma campus. Some were in one of the rose gardens, some around the library posing by fountains, trees, etc. A lady photographer took her pictures and said Kaitlyn was very photogenic. I can't wait to see them.
We watched a video very similar to their 5th grade graduation video (that shows them from kindergarten to 5th grade). Most of the pictures were used in the previous video from pictures that parents had submitted and it was put to music. Then they passed a microphone around and the seniors gave their name and their favorite memory from elementary school. Kaitlyn's was "Fifties Day." Then at the end of the assembly, the 5th graders and the seniors have a dodgeball tournament. Here's a clip from some of the dodgeball. Kaitlyn runs up and then back (long legs and flying blonde hair). I remember Kristen's group doing this too.
Here's a picture of some of the girls from my girl scout troop in the 4th grade for a Halloween party our troop had. Kaitlyn (with the crown), Shelby, and Rainey are in the middle. Actually all of these girls are in the big group picture below.

Here's a picture of Kaitlyn and Shelby from middle school cheer.

And this morning....
Here's a picture of all the seniors that came today, Kaitlyn is in the middle behind the girl in the bright yellow shirt.

What a nice thing to do and yes very nostalgic. To my knowledge they don't do anything like that here. Bryan did get a couple of letters from teachers who taught him in elementary school when he graduated They saw his picture in the paper for being an honor graduate. Happy Mother's Day tomorrow, Cindy.
Love, Merry
