More Snow Pics

Here's a short video I took yesterday of Kaitlyn with Sunny and Sugar in the backyard. Sugar was having a tough time getting around. She had to "tunnel" her way through.

This site met me when I opened the back door this morning to let the dog out. Looks like giant teeth. They are even bigger now.

Snow on Ice....

Better think twice. Now it's snowing like a beast on top of the ice we got yesterday. Doesn't seem like it's going to stop any time too soon.

And to top it off, Joe just left to go hunting with one of his good buddies. They are going out to the panhandle again and trying to "get behind" the snow so they can hunt tomorrow and Sunday. At least at this point, I have a lot of food and power. Don't know how long the power will last, however.

Here we go again....

Well, here we go again. We're going to have ice. They said as bad if not worse than in December 2007 when half the trees around here either fell over, split in half, or the tops fell out of them. I did go to work this morning, but when I came out to come home at lunch, it took me about 10 minutes to chisel off the ice on the windshield and back window. I closed the office down, brought some work home with me and started baking brownies. At least if the power goes off, we'll have dessert! I had already made a cold chinese chicken salad last night, "just in case." The schools went ahead and closed here in Norman today even tho nothing had happened yet. The airport in OKC went ahead and canceled flights this morning after 8:00 AM. Here's a picture of my car a few minutes ago.

Here's a picture of my poor hummingbird feeder (or what's left of it). I noticed the other day that the bottom half had broken off from the Christmas snow we had. I found the bottom in the bushes below and threw it away but I needed Joe to reach the feeder to get it down and he hasn't done it yet. So here's whats left!

The Olympics

Once upon a time, Kaitlyn had dreams of being an Olympic skater. In the spirit of the upcoming Olympics, here is a video interview a local television station did during the Winter Olympics in 2002. Kristen is seen skating in and around as is Auburn Brown. Roman Koudriavtsev, their coach, was one of Kaitlyn's favorite people in the world for a long time. You may have to turn off my music to hear the interview.

Another Prayer Shawl

Today was our monthly prayer shawl circle at church. I completed this one (adding the fringe) while at the meeting. It is another shawl that was made up of using leftover yarn. Fortunately, I found enough "leftovers" in the tubs at church so that it has a striped pattern.

Baby, It's Cold Outside!!

I woke up this morning and it's 5 degrees outside. That's not counting whatever the wind chill is. Joe and the girls left yesterday for a week of skiing in Colorado. It's SOOOO cold outside, I'm having to leave all the outside dogs in too. Thus one of my Christmas Tree ornaments got eaten. I guess that's a sign I need to take the Christmas Tree down. The only problem is, I'm not climbing up in the attic to get the boxes down. So I took all the ornaments off the tree and stuffed them in empty Victoria's Secret bags until Joe gets home. Hopefully the dog won't try to eat the tree. It's new and Joe would have a cow.

We are now into week 3 with snow on the ground. It's so freaking cold, it can't melt.

It's supposed to get up to 50 degrees next week about Wednesday or Thursday. I can't wait. It'll be like a heat wave!!

Happy New Year!

I didn't do much New Year's Eve. I worked at Kohl's until 9:00, came home and watched a little of the OU/Gonzaga basketball game, realized we were NOT going to win and went to bed. Joe had to work the Flaming Lips concert which Kaitlyn and Michael attended. Kristen and Kyle went to the OKC Thunder basketball game (courtesy of Joe) then attended the Flaming Lips concert for a short while.

Yesterday, Joe left to go hunting in the Panhandle of OK again for a weekend of male bonding, football watching, and pheasant hunting. I went shopping most of the day since I couldn't get out last weekend due to back problems and too much snow.

I can't believe we STILL have snow on the ground. It's been over a week, people. Most of the snow is on the north side of things. Like our back yard has more snow than the front yard. The people across the street from us have lots of snow still in their front yard. Here's a couple of pictures of our back yard. It's a mess for the dogs to be out there so I've been keeping them in as much as possible (even the outside dogs). Plus it's just too darned cold - the high today MIGHT reach 30.
