Here is Taylor from last weekend. She is on the Pom squad at Tulsa University. They played OU and we ran down to the field before the game and took a picture of her. She is soooo pretty.Thursday, September 24, 2009
Random Pictures
This is Taylor, one of Kaitlyn's good friends from pom. This picture was taken Junior year in HS. They have been on a squad together since 8th grade in middle school.

Here's a picture of my 25th anniversary ring I got. The picture doesn't do it justice. There are square bagats (sp?) all across the top of the ring. And YES, these are my real nails!!!!
I just finished another prayer shawl for my circle at church. I did another multi-colored triangle one.
Here's another view of it.

Flashback Friday
These are some pictures of the wall that used to be in my office when Jann and I were downstairs. She found this paintbrush in a store in California and got this idea. So she had a decorator she had worked with come into our office and paint this on our wall. The paintbrush is mounted on the wall.
Jann also found these letters and Corissa (the decorator) splatter painted them for us.
Corissa also hand-drew the swoosh and then painted it in.
A close-up of the wooden paint brush. Cool idea, huh? Everyone always commented on it when they came into my office. It was a fun thing to have on your wall, not your usually stuffy office decor. When we moved upstairs, Jann gave the words and the paintbrush to her daughter to use in her condo.

Results from CT Scan
The results from my CT Scan were normal. There was nothing found during the scan other than a couple of cysts on my thyroid. At this point in time there is no reason they can find for my hoarseness other than my vocal chords are not closing properly. There are 3 options I have: 1) Do nothing and just live with my voice. 2) Get an injection in my vocal chord that is not working properly, this is a temporary fix and lasts about 6 months. 3) have surgery (outpatient) where the doctor makes an incision in my neck and goes in and places a hard silicon block (shaped to fit my vocal chord) so that the vocal chords will close properly. This is a permanent solution. I want to think about it and do some research first. Don't really know what I want to do at this point.

Here are a few more pictures from AOII Bid Day. For some reason it won't let me move them around in the proper order. This is the front of the house.

OU/BYU
We just got back from Dallas and getting a bird's-eye view of the new Dallas Cowboy's stadium. It's pretty nice. This is the view from the parking lot walking up to it.
Kaitlyn and Michael.
The whole family.
Inside the stadium is starting to fill up. Here's a shot of the jumbotron.
Joe and I clowning around in our seats. We were up against a wall which was nice because our cup holders were on the back of the seats in front of us and there was lots of leg room.

I won't be doing any singing for awhile...
I just got back from the state's leading laryngologist, who after looking down my throat with a scope, said that my "acid reflux" is not causing my chronic hoarseness. Apparently, my vocal chords are not closing properly. The left side looks like a chunk is missing (??). The more I strain and try to talk the worse it makes it. They have scheduled a CT scan of my head and neck next week. Then I go back to meet with the doctor the following week. As an aside, I knew that the doctor looked familiar, he said I looked familiar too. I then remembered, he's a figure skater and took lessons from Roman (Kaitlyn and Kristen's coach) every Thursday morning at 5:30 AM. He'd already be on the ice when we got there warming up for our lesson. He was more into ice dancing. He's probably about my age or so (he has gray hair, so he could be younger, or older). We had a few moments remembering stuff and he asked why Kaitlyn was not still skating, even if she was in college!!! When he found out that Kaitlyn may major in physical therapy he gave me his card to give to her. Anyway, Joe is relieved that I won't have to jack the bed up on one end (to help with acid reflux), and I'm relieved that I don't have throat cancer or anything. Although, I may have to have injections (I'm thinking something like Botox) in my vocal chord so it will "puff" up and close properly. We'll see, only if I get lots of drugs and am asleep while they do it.......
