I got my hair-a did...

I got my hair cut and colored yesterday. I'm not sure I totally like it. I like the length and I had "side" bangs cut, which I prefer to be more "poofy". The color is a little more blonde that I usually get it and it looks like I have no makeup on. It was at the end of the day and my makeup had pretty much melted off and I didn't have any lipstick on. Oh well, at my age, I just say, it'll grow out and I'll make it work!

First Day of College

Tomorrow is the first day of college for Kaitlyn. She's had a lot of fun the past few days with her new sorority friends, but now the day of reckoning is here! She's a little afraid (some classes have over 400 students in them). Michael is taking her around today to help her find her classes. She'll do just fine IF SHE CAN FIND A PARKING SPACE!! HAHA

Bid Day - 2009

Kaitlyn pledged Alpha Omicron Pi - same as Kristen. We're all happy. Kaitlyn's best friend, Lindsey also pledged AOII too. She's not so happy right now. She is still in shock that the house she wanted first dropped her. She'll be a great AOII, she'll love it once she gets over her shock!!

RUSH

I helped Kaitlyn move into the dorm this morning for Rush/Recruitment. Her room mate had not shown up by 11:30 and Kaitlyn was getting antsy. Kristen moved into the dorm on Tuesday. She is a Recruitment Guide (Rho Gamma) during RUSH. I'm going to try to not text or call and let Kaitlyn do the calling. It'll be hard not knowing what's going on. AGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!! Everything will be decided by 2:00 on Tuesday when they get their bids. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there won't be TOO much drama. Kaitlyn is the queen of drama.....

How I Got to Oklahoma from South Carolina

In honor of tomorrow's anniversary of how I got to Oklahoma via a Caribbean cruise, here are some pictures from 28 years ago. I went on a cruise with 3 other women. I did not know these women until about 3 mos before I left to go on the cruise. They are Judy - age 34 (from Charlotte, NC), Hazel - age 34 from Columbia, SC, ME with the frizzy perm - age 26 from Columbia, SC, and Linda - age 53 from Columbia, SC.

The cruise ship was taken out of commission a couple of years after I went on it. It was the smallest one in the Carnival line at the time and was very old. I have not seen or heard from these women since I moved to Oklahoma. But we had a lot of fun the week we spent together and I'll always remember it.
